This is a connected, story-driven series, not separate games, and skipping earlier parts — especially Chapter 1 — often leads to confusion with key mechanics like weapon handling. To ensure your guests stay immersed and satisfied, we strongly recommend offering the chapters in ▶️ sequential order.

🚀 Tips to Boost Success in Dream Hackers

After reviewing thousands of playtests, we gathered the most common struggles players face and some tips to help them overcome them easily. Use these insights to guide your guests toward a smoother, more enjoyable experience.

🔍 General Tips

Emphasize the Tutorial
Many players miss essential mechanics by ignoring the tutorial. Encourage them to pay attention to voice prompts and on-screen instructions during the training phase.

Movement is the Key
Standing still is a quick way to get overwhelmed. Encourage players to move: the more they move, the longer they survive — mobility is key to staying alive.

Explore every corner!
Coins and mirages are scattered across the map and always contain valuable resources along with the Trader.  

• Potions, especially those offering permanent upgrades, can greatly improve combat performance.
• Artifacts are incredibly strong and often synergize with weapons. If they find one, they should explore its potential combinations.

Don’t save, spend!
Make sure players understand that the Trader offers different items at each location. They should buy what they need when they see it — saving coins for later isn’t useful.

Cooperation & Strategy
Warn against solo rushing. Dream Hackers rewards strategic coordination. Remind players to communicate and move as a team for the best results.

🔫 Combat & Weapon Strategy

Encourage using all 4 weapons
New players often rely on just one weapon. Let them know they can carry and rotate between four for maximum impact.

Out of ammo? Quick-switch!
Weapons reload automatically while in the pocket. Remind players to switch between them to maintain constant fire.

Understand the pocket system
Some players think weapons disappear when interacting with objects — they don’t. They simply move to the arm pocket. A quick joystick flick downward brings them back.

Highlight Enemy Weak Points
Every enemy has a glowing weak point — usually purple, though it varies by chapter. Hitting these will dispatch enemies faster and more efficiently.
