Overview of LBE VR Companies
The Location-Based Entertainment Virtual Reality (LBE VR) market (Europe, the United States, and Oceania) is shaped by a variety of companies playing different roles in content development, distribution, and deployment. In this article, we share our internal analysis and classification of these companies, highlighting active contributors to the B2B sector.
This overview includes the following types of companies:
- Developers creating in-house VR titles for the LBE
- Platforms distributing third-party VR content to LBE venues (not just in-house games)
- Franchises offering turnkey LBE VR solutions within a closed ecosystem. Their content and technology are used only within their branded network, often supported by a centralized website with booking and location management
- Hybrid companies that both develop their own games and distribute third-party titles
- Studios that create B2B content exclusively for external distribution platforms, without running their own
To help structure the overview and make the comparisons easier, we use a system of standardized tags for each company profile. These tags highlight their core activities, business model, content strategy, and status. Below is a description of each tag used throughout the article.
🔖 Click to view tag definitions
- Year Year the company was founded, shown as a tag alongside others. For some companies, the year was specified when they started their activity in VR.
- Developer B2B Develops VR content specifically for the location-based entertainment (LBE) sector.
- Developer B2С Primarily focused on home/consumer VR content, but also ports their titles to LBE.
- Platform A company that distributes third-party VR content to LBE venues.
- Franchise End-to-end LBE solution providers operating under a closed ecosystem. Their content and platform are not distributed outside their own branded locations. Booking is handled via a centralized website with a unified list of branded franchise locations.
- Attraction A company that provides a fully integrated package of hardware and content.
- Active Company demonstrated visible activity in the past 12 months in the B2B sector: new game releases, platform updates, public announcements, or other confirmed developments. Activity outside its primary B2B VR vector is not counted.
- Sales-only A company that has stopped developments in its primary business vector but continues to sell and support its existing solution.
- Inactive Opposite to the tag “Active”.
- PCVR Content that requires a PC per headset to be launched.
- Standalone Content that does not require a PC and is launched directly on HMD.
- Room-Scale Content that allows free movement within the designated play area (2.5x2.5 meters area per player, each player has their own play area).
- Free-Roam Content that allows free movement within a designated play area from small to large-scale spaces (from 5x5 to 20x40 meters), with all players sharing one play area.

Playtime hours listed for each company are theoretical estimates based on public booking data, partner disclosures, and booking system analysis. These numbers reflect yearly gameplay volume and allow fair comparison regardless of average session duration.
We use interpolation methods from public calendars, observed venue traffic, and internal metrics. Shorter sessions (e.g., 5–10 minutes) are not directly comparable to longer premium experiences (e.g, 45–60 minutes), which is why we express impact in total hours per year. The russian and Asian markets were excluded from our analysis, as they operate as closed systems beyond our area of expertise. Notably, the minutes reported for the CIA region primarily reflect the russian market and were therefore not included.
If you are a listed company and your actual numbers differ, please reach out. We’re happy to update inaccurate figures.
Below you’ll find a company-by-company breakdown, including tags, key features, and recent activity.
❗ Note: Some well-known companies are not included in this list because their focus is on the B2C/home user market and not directly relevant to the professional LBE segment.
💬 Feedback: If you're a representative of a listed company and notice incorrect or outdated information, feel free to contact us; corrections are more than welcome. If your company is not included in this list and meets the criteria of being based in Europe, the United States, or Oceania, and actively contributing to the B2B sector of the LBE VR market, please feel free to reach out to us. We would be happy to include your company in this overview, completely free of charge.
